RR&SS's approach to jump blues was simple: Swing the thing 'til it comes unhinged and have a great time doing it.
The band harkened back to the jive and jump blues sounds of the '40s and '50s. Its sound was a mixture of sax, guitar, rambunctious rhythm, and coo-coo kazoo. Heavy on the hollow-body and make the sax bray like a dang mule. When swing hit (again), we were already swingin'.
