Katrina was the most severe hurricane to strike the Louisiana/ Mississippi Gulf Coast since Camille in 1969.

The most costly natural disaster in history, Katrina made landfall in Pearlington, MS at the mouth of the Mississippi River. Entire communities like Waveland, Pass Christian, and Bay St. Louis were almost completely destroyed leaving thousands homeless. Rebuilding is ongoing and is expected to take at least a decade.

You can't imagine the destruction if you haven't seen it. If you haven't visited the Gulf Coast —please do so. Volunteer. Support a nonprofit that is doing work along the Coast. Most importantly, don't forget.
